One app for
every pet, every vet, every business

Consumer-led vertical SaaS for the pet economy: we acquire pet owners free with viral consumer tools, then monetize through the vets and shops that serve them. AI health scans, missing-pet map, vet booking and store, worldwide in 19 languages.

Our Identity

The story behind the name

Dieren
Vriend
Dierend

Together

Born in Dutch, built worldwide, now in 19 languages from day one.

The problem we solve

A dog with reading glasses, overwhelmed by fragmented pet care

Pet care is fragmented across five apps, vet software is built for desktops, and owners have no single place to manage their pet's life.

5 apps

The average owner uses five separate tools (social, vet booking, missing-pet posts, symptom search, shopping) that don't talk to each other.

$200+/seat

Legacy vet PIMS (ezyVet, Provet, IDEXX Neo) charge $200+ per seat per month and were built for desktops, not mobile-native vets.

Disconnected

No system links an owner's pet history with the vets and services around them, so the relationship that matters most is the one nobody owns.

Reporting is broken

Most people walk away from a distressed stray because reporting is too hard. The founding insight that started Dierend.

Why we win

Vet-software companies spend $400+ on cold sales to land a single clinic. We make clinics come to us, because we already have their customers in the app.

Own the customer first

Free consumer tools acquire pet owners at near-zero cost: the same owners every clinic and shop is trying to reach.

Sell them the demand

Clinics and shops subscribe to reach owners already active near them. Consumer-led distribution, not cold outbound.

Compound and lock in

Bookings and payouts run on us; cross-side network effects deepen with every owner and clinic added.

Dierend is consumer-led vertical SaaS for the pet economy: acquire owners free, monetize through the businesses that serve them.

Three modes, one app

Owners, vets, and pet businesses share the same network. One platform, three sides of the pet economy.

Pet Owners

Social feed and stories. AI symptom scans. Mate matching (playdate requests to other owners' pets). Missing-pet map. Universal reporting. Vet booking, video consults, and a store.

Veterinarians

Clinic dashboard, patient records, appointment booking, video consults (rolling out), in-app chat with owners, and Stripe payouts. Standalone or alongside a multi-service business.

Pet Businesses

Storefront for products and services. Order management, customer messaging, and bookings. Groomers, sitters, and shops get a back-office without the desktop tax.

The growth loop: acquire owners free, then monetize

Free consumer tools acquire pet owners at almost zero cost. We route them into a vertical booking SaaS for vet clinics and pet shops, then retain both sides on a subscription model.

1 · Acquire: near-zero CAC

The AI health scanner (free monthly scans) and emergency reporting (50 free reports/mo) seed the community. Free missing & found pet ads then expand it, neighbourhood by neighbourhood, no ad spend required to be useful.

2 · Monetize: route to booking SaaS

Every scan, report and alert routes the owner to the nearest vet clinic or pet shop in our network. Bookings and orders run in-app: vertical SaaS for the business, marketplace commission for us.

3 · Retain: subscriptions

Owners stay for multi-pet history, deeper AI and priority routing; clinics and shops stay on per-seat subscriptions. Recurring revenue on both sides, and every paying business gives owners one more reason to stay.

No cold start: the free consumer tools are useful with zero clinics on board, so owners come first. We then sign clinics into demand that already exists in their neighbourhood.

More owners → more clinics and shops join → more reasons for owners to stay. The loop compounds, and customer-acquisition cost trends toward zero.

Universal reporting: anyone, any animal, anywhere

No phone trees. No broken city hotlines. Any user, owner or passer-by, can report any animal in need from the street. The report routes to the correct responder automatically.

1. Snap

Take a photo. Frontier AI assigns a severity score and triage priority in seconds.

2. Tag

Precise GPS attached automatically. Pin-drop on the map for adjustment if needed.

3. Route

Routes to the right NGO, vet, or city hall by location, with a PDF case file.

Free for every user (50 reports a month), so it spreads on its own: a zero-cost acquisition hook. And every report becomes a data point in the mortality map no other pet app collects.

AI Health Scanner: powered by frontier AI

A vet examining a dog, AI-assisted health triage

A free triage assistant in every owner's pocket, with 3 scans a month at no cost. It's our cheapest acquisition channel and the top-of-funnel for the vet network.

  • Symptom Detection: identifies wounds, skin conditions, malnutrition, and distress signals from a single photo.
  • Severity Triage: automatically flags critical cases for immediate vet attention or rescue dispatch.
  • Routes to revenue: every scan links to the nearest vet for booking or a paid consult.
  • Cost-tiered LLM routing. Efficient models on the free tier, premium models for paid. Built on Cloud Functions v2, costs scale with usage; no fixed inference bill.

Frontier-model providers (OpenAI on the free tier, Anthropic Claude for paid) sit behind our own routing layer, swappable and never locked in.

Built and ready to scale

Competition

Each incumbent owns one slice. None acquires owners for free and sells that demand to clinics, and none has the cross-side network effects.

Vet booking marketplaces

Vetster · Pawp · Dutch

Single-market, single-feature. No commerce or rescue layer, no all-sides network.

Vet PIMS software

ezyVet · Provet · IDEXX Neo

$200+/seat, desktop-first, hostile to mobile-native vets and solo practitioners.

Pet-owner social

11pets · Tractive · Pawtrack

Single-feature apps. No vet booking, no AI scans, no rescue layer.

Pet commerce

Zooplus · Chewy · Fressnapf

Pure transactional e-commerce. No community, no clinical layer, no engagement loop.

Missing-pet networks

PawBoost · Petco Love Lost

US-centric. Track missing, not deceased. No vet-care integration.

Dierend

Cross-side network effects: owners, clinics and shops compound, and bookings + payouts lock the business in.

Market: global from day one
